Because disaster strikes without warning and it may take days for help to arrive, it is critical to have the supplies you and your family (including your pets) need ready ahead of time.

Family Emergency Information and Plan: Have the information you need readily available. Put a copy in each of your emergency kits and go-bags.

Emergency Kits: You should have emergency kits at home, in your car and at work. At home you should have supplies to be safe at home for at least three days, preferably a week or even two. You should also have a To-Go-Bag(s) in case you have to evacuate quickly. View a guide to building and maintaining your kits.

Putting together emergency kits take time and money. View a 24 week plan for building your kits.
